Mind Control through Breath Control
One of the main stumbling blocks that get in the way of success in any diet is cravings. We start out with the best of intentions; we arm ourselves with the right information. We even create a plan and commit to it. But only a couple of days into it, and for many, even after only a few hours into the new diet, an overwhelming craving sets in.
Commonly with cravings, we go on autopilot. We don’t even realize what we’ve done until we’ve taken the last bite of the candy bar or we’ve eaten a whole bag of chips. I used to marvel at this phenomenon when I was a smoker. My cravings were so strong, that would seem as if I had walked in my sleep to the store, purchased a pack of cigarettes and started smoking again the next morning after quitting only the night before. I would get so disgusted with my complete lack of control over these cravings that I thought of myself as a slave to my habit. And by thinking so, a slave is what I then became.
Desperate to escape the bonds of cigarette slavery, I would spend hundreds of extra dollars a month as I would repeatedly buy a pack of cigarettes only to smoke one or two and then throw the pack away only to buy another the next day or sometimes even the same day. I tried patches, gum, and even hypnosis, they all worked for a while but sooner or later a craving would come that I would succumb to. It wasn’t until I learned how to use the powerful techniques of pranayama life force control, that I was able to break myself free from the bonds of a habit that kept me imprisoned for over 20 years.
