Part One Chapter 6 (Page 32)

6 – Be an early riser

What could you do with an extra 45 working days a year that you could use for the things that you wanted to do?  What could you accomplish?  We all complain about not having enough time.  “So much to do, so little time”, goes the saying.  You can add an extra 45 working days to your year simply by getting up 1 hour earlier and devoting that time to improving yourself, working on a special project, or whatever else is important to you.

Most if not all of the great ones throughout history were early risers.  Gandhi regularly awoke at 3:30 AM .  George Washington Carver awoke at 4:00 AM every morning and walked into the woods, he said that God spoke to him there and gave him all his ideas at that time.  Benjamin Franklin awoke at 4:30 AM.  Throughout the ages the Yogis have expounded the benefits of arising before the sun and meditating in the early morning hours, they say that it is the most auspicious time of the day for meditation.  Early morning after awaking is also the best time to visualize as the brain is still in the alpha state.  Get in the habit of going to bed and waking up at a consistent time.

I have found that the best way to wake up is with the use of the Zen Timepiece.  These beautiful time pieces use the sound of Tibetan bowl, which is a type of gong, as an alarm. In the morning, the beautiful sound summons your consciousness into awakening with a series of subtle gongs that provide an elegant beginning to your day.  The clocks also utilize the golden ratio in that when the alarm is triggered, the gong strikes just once … then automatically, it strikes again in 3-1/2 minutes … then in 2 minutes … then in 1 minute … the gong strikes gradually increase over 10 minutes, eventually striking every 5 seconds until turned off. Once you experience the Zen Timepiece’s progressive awakening, you’ll never want to wake up any other way.

Now that you are up, what are you going to do?  The first thing you should do is visualize.  As this is one of the 2 best times to do so, as the brain is in the alpha state and the mind is the most receptive.  Visualize your intentions, visualize your body the way you want it to look, visualize the financial success you want to enjoy, visualize your relationships the way that you want them and as you do this be sure to feel the positive emotions that having these things will bring to your life.  That emotional feeling is the ingredient that cannot be left out in order for your visualizations to work.  Once you have completed your visualization then spend 15-20 minutes in quiet meditation, this helps to releases your intention to the universe and set the tone for your entire day.  Incorporating a practice of either meditation or visualization or both in the morning will eventually result in not needing an alarm clock at all, as you will awaken at the appropriate time automatically each day.
